I had an assignment to photograph a group of musicians at the library. I went Saturday afternoon and spent about an hour an a half with them taking photos in different locations. They will be performing a concert of classical music this week, featuring music from Russian composers. I scouted out some locations early. I had an idea of taking a group photo on the roof with the city in the background. A security guard was kind enough to take us up there. This is one of the photos. The group was fun and easy to work with. The photos will be used for promotional purposes.
Yesterday, I went to Juan Valdez Cafe for my first cup of coffee in 16 days. It was fantastic. I had it with an arequipe pastry and the local newspaper. I spent an hour there enjoying myself.
This morning, I walked from my house to the base of Las Tres Cruces. None of my friends showed up to hike so I climbed the mountain alone. I made it up in 39 minutes, my second best time. At the top, I enjoyed my usual carrot bread and orange/carrot juice. It was so good. Then, with nobody to hold me back, I ran most of the way down, getting to the bottom in 26 minutes. It was great exercise. I never get tired of doing this climb. The views of the city are always spectacular.
